Diploma Higher Education, Training and Development (DipHE)

Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE) Training and Development is a programme designed and delivered by the Scottish Police College and accredited by Napier University.

The programme will help you think more critically about the concerns, substance and processes of training and development within the Scottish Police College. Through this you will become more effective in your role at the College, ensuring that you contribute fully to the provision of high quality training.

Except for the first module ‘Foundation in Training Development’, which is delivered through a taught programme with some self study, the Diploma is delivered by supported flexible learning. The materials for this are held on Solus. This means that you are not required to attend formal classes. You will be supported by a tutor and you will undertake learning on the job. This structure will enable you to manage the demands of the programme and College workload.

This course consists of five modules they are:

  • Module 1: *Foundation Module in Training and Development
  • Module 2: Learning in practice
  • Module 3: Principles of TNA and skills of course design
  • Module 4: Delivery
  • Module 5: Skills of assessment and Understanding training Evaluation
Target Audience:

This course is intended for students who have completed the *Foundation Module at the Scottish Police College, however other students can gain entry through other routes depending on qualifications and/or experience.

Registration

Is via the attendance of the Foundation course or on application depending on qualifications and/or experience.
