Probationer training

The Probationer Training Programme is delivered throughout the initial 2 years of a Constable’s service (Probationary Period). This is a demanding time for new recruits to the service, both physically and mentally.

The standards expected of officers are high as are the demands placed on them.

There are four distinct "modules" recruits undertake at different times throughout this to year period, in addition to separate training weeks at local divisions.

The overall structure of the Probationer Training Programme, over 24 months, is as follows:
