The Accelerated Careers Development Programme (ACDP) comprises a phased developmental structure aimed at preparing and equipping police officers for senior posts within the Scottish police service. It seeks to attract probationary officers, constables and sergeants who display exceptional potential, desire, commitment and talent.

The Programme is aligned to the Senior Careers Development Service which provides development support for lateral and vertical career aspirations and is available to superintending ranks (and police staff in an equivalent role and above.
