We are currently involved in an ongoing project with the FCO and the Ministry of defence Police and the University of Stirling. We helped create a Post Graduate Certificate in International Policing (Peace Support Operations) for police officers deployed from the UK on policing missions overseas. The first graduation will be in June this year with approximately 20 students graduating. Students who pass can progress to do a Diploma then a Masters Degree in conflict resolution.
We have recently developed a series of accredited training qualifications for the international market with the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and the University of Stirling. At an operational level these qualifications include modules on crime scene management, investigative interviewing, intelligence management and policing skills and leadership. At a strategic level we have developed a Post Graduate Certificate in Strategic Management.

October 2008 Malawi - The Scottish Police College is delighted to have been chosen by the Scottish Government to support the development of policing in Malawi.
The project will focus on training a group of police officers in Malawi to become trainers and for them to subsequently train other police officers in community policing.
John Geates, Director, Scottish Police College
This proposal comprises;
a) the delivery of the accredited 'training the trainers' programme, and
b) a detailed community policing needs assessment exercise leading to
c) the delivery of focussed training modules
The cohort of trained trainers in Malawi will also be able to use their training skills for all types of police related learning as the skills are transferable across different disciplines. This new capacity and capability will add real value to the Malawi Police Service in the long term as it will remain once the Scottish Police College exits the programme.
